Some call it “That FAMOSO (famous) cheese of the island”, produced on the beautiful island of São Miguel, this is a matured cheese with a semi-hard paste, with a firm texture and matured for a minimum of 3 months.

It is a product with a strong and clean aroma and flavour, obtained from pasteurized cow's milk.

Available in whole format, quarters and slices.

Island Cheese… just to say, we travel to the islands, to the nature that surrounds us and to the authentic flavors that they transmit to us. They are cheeses made from cow's milk, raw or pasteurized, in an open vat process, where the cheesemakers' strong and firm hands play a very important role.

Both in São Jorge and São Miguel, we produce this type of cheese.
